PocketPC/Barcode Scanner We are happy to work with other companies to deliver products and services to their customers. In this project, a reseller of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) asked us to write an application for a biomedical company who had purchased their software to track the status of post-production units from Release to Shipping. We did the research and recommended a mobile device that met all of their requirements: double-impact tested, offers persistent storage and is programmable in an industry-standard language. We selected a PocketPC which runs on Windows Mobile 5.0. This allowed us to create a SQL Server 2005 Mobile Edition database on the device itself, to take advantage of Microsoft's .NET Compact Framework 2.0 and to write the code in C#. The application integrates with the LIMS software via login and database calls to their own proprietary COM components, thus maintaining security and data integrity.
